NPZ desert

hello blog, i've been so neglectful of you. and for that, i am sorry.

well here I am, sitting in the Lecture Center at New Paltz waiting for my internship seminar class to start. Besides the foreigners who are taking classes here over the summer--i'm going to assume they're mostly Turkish because of the debacle that ensued last summer with "subletting" our apartment-- it's a ghost town.

I kind of really don't want to be here right now, because it's not the same without my lahvs. BUT, I do get to see them soon and that makes me quite happy.

funny pointless story of the day:
I got a Coolata from Dunkin Donuts, and i've always hated how the bottom is more liquid-y and the top is more icy. To ameliorate this problem I decided that the best solution was to blow into straw, thus mixing the two consistencies (I swear this made total sense in my mind). So I take a breath and blow, and what happens? a chunk of icy coolata shoots up and hits me in the eye. FAIL. FML.

feliz dia de los madres!

i'm so disoriented.

i'm currently sitting in my barren wasteland of a room. After my parents took out all my furniture aside from my bed, it's looking quite lonely in here. I feel like an orphan.

It's finally sinking in that this is my last week at school. This little hippie town has been my home every year from August to May since freshman year. And now come August, I wont be making my annual return.

things I won't miss: the crackheads that climb on our roof and feel that its absolutely necessary to poke their heads in and say hi. No, I don't want to say hi, you're a crackhead, get the fuck out of my house. kaythanxxxbyeee

ps. had a great mother's day!--> lunch with the family, campus tour, mountain excursions, and dinner <3

yeah, my boyfriend loves me.

um.. sooo.. I showed Mike this blog and his reponse was as follows..

"you're a complete loser. how did it come to this? wow. i have no words."

we're a great match, haha.

via AIM

Something that makes me really happy: my mom's frequent use of AIM and the fact that I speak to her almost every morning on it.

Maybe it's just the fact that I picture her actually speaking the words through her heavy spanish accent, but laughing is inevitable whenever I speak to her via AIM.

Barb (1:24:35 PM): and when i get home we're gonna go walking again!
Madre(1:25:00 PM): def
Barb (1:26:18 PM): hahah
Barb (1:26:31 PM): "def", you have your internet lingo down
Barb (1:26:35 PM): ok go get your coffee
Barb (1:26:37 PM): love you
Madre (1:27:03 PM): remember "52 going on 22"
Madre (1:27:09 PM): lol
Barb (1:28:40 PM): hahaa yes!

she's the best mom ever. --yes, Jaimee, i'm partly quoting the legit crackhead that was outside our apartment the other night, haha.

LOLZ

current situation: lounging with Jaim, while watching America's Funniest Home Videos. And what i just realized is that the human race just seems to be inherently sadistic.

Now how did I gather that from watching good old family entertainment?

Well half the people that we laugh at in those videos look like they could have sustained some serious injuries. But hey, at least we got a few chuckles in before we find out that little Jimmy broke his arm when he went flying into the woods on his ATV.

Another example: The demise of Britney Spears.

It just seems that people are looking for bad shit that happens to other people so that they can feel just a little bit better about themselves and their lives. Hey, at least the media isn't constantly keeping track of me and feeding off of all of my short-comings.

side note: i'm almost done with school and i go home next week. how'd that happen?
